The Resiliency Project

We live in a time where we are faced with many challenges that need to be overcome because we risk not being able to sustain our lifestyles.  This time in history requires that we understand the power that we as individuals have.  Through my work as a physician for 30+ years and my ever-growing interest in alternative health, I have recommitted to helping others find a lifestyle that allows them to thrive in this stressful world that we all live in.   With the help of cutting edge research, personal training, and the cumulative experiences of my professional practice, I have intimately recognized how the choices we make can affect our health, our psyche and our relationships.  Thus the Resiliency Project was born with the soul commitment of caring for the care giver.

I am committed to helping people understand their own power will come from committing first to themselves.

A Little Bit of History...

This is how it all began.

For me the whole idea for the Resiliency Project started because one of the first things I knew I wanted was to try meditating everyday.  I kept hearing about the positive benefits and I knew that I wanted to see for myself.

When I started talking about wanting to meditate every day I happened to find 2 other people at work who wanted to try also.  We would meet for 10 minutes, put our beepers on vibrate, we went into an office, and would find a youtube guided meditation.

It was profound how helpful we all found it.  It was simple.  And I believe it is one of the easiest most helpful tools that I have used to transform my life in such a big way.

Our Mission...

Self Awareness • Collaboration • Emotional Intelligence • Well Being • Vitality

Because of the multiple stress demands on our lives with constant connectivity, increased expectations, and the inherent stress of working in the healthcare field, we are being asked to manage more stress than ever before in our lives.

The Resiliency Project ushers in the possibility that, despite the increasing demands, we can find joy, greater productivity, and true happiness by simply taking a moment to reflect.  We create the opportunity for healthcare workers to bridge the paths of physical and spiritual health.  It Is by listening carefully to our bodies and intuition that we begin to tap into our vitality and well-being.

By taking the time to practice mindfulness, participants create a healthier lifestyle, develop creativity and find resilience and inspiration to solve ongoing challenges of their personal and professional life with less reactivity.

How we grew...

Self Awareness • Collaboration • Emotional Intelligence • Well Being • Vitality

The Resiliency Project began servicing the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit staff at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA in 2017.  It began by offering a guided meditation to all the staff 2 x every day.  People would sign up for a 15 minute session.  It was so successful that soon other departments of the hospital  were asking how they could also get the services that the Resiliency Project was providing.  The Resiliency Project continued to expand its' offerings and by  2019 the Project was granted an illustrious BCRISP grant (Brigham Care Redesign incubator and startup program) and was able to grow exponentially.  With the assistance of 16 volunteers by 2019 the Resiliency Project was servicing up to 50 people a day and was providing Orthobionomy sessions, reiki sessions, daily meditation, bemer session and tea for the soul in 3 different departments of the BWH.

By taking the time out during their busy days, staff find resilience,  more energy and compassion to care for their patients. Hear what people have said about the program:

As we have said before, it is our belief that now more than ever the Resiliency Project is needed in all institutions.  We are at a time in history where we are being asked to manage more information than ever before in our lives. The techniques that the Resiliency Project brings and teaches are crucial to helping the work force deal with the ever mounting stress from their jobs.

We would like nothing more than to help your institution discover how they can create their own Resiliency Project. Companies are now recognizing how important it is to take care of their frontline.  Read the testimonials from the myriad of staff below.
